چکیده

Bacterial chemical reactions, such as urea hydrolysis can induce calcium carbonate precipitation. The induced production of formed by microorganisms has been widely used in environmental and engineering applications. present study aimed to isolate, identify optimize growth conditions urease positive bacteria from rich soil Gaza Strip. isolates, which tolerated ≥10% concentration, were selected for the investigation. Eight isolates recovered identified be spore forming, positive, alkaliphile, halotolerant, presumptively belonged Bacillus species.  All showed best at temperature 37°C, pH 9-9.5. After exposure UV irradiation, most improved tolerance however, other strains a decline their adaption concentrations. mutant form isolate sample #3 highest concentrations all intervals, when compared with wild type. Moreover, precipitated carbonate. locally are promising contributors process calcite Biomineralizaion may utilized remediation concrete cracks, increase compressive strength concrete, decrease water permeability, solve problems erosions.   Key words: Calcite bio-mineralization, microbial precipitation (MICP), urease, spp., strip.

Isolation of antibacterial material-producing bacteria from saline soil

Saline soils are widely spread in Iran. These intact soils are a great source for the isolation of new bacteria with highly functional metabolites in biotechnology. Actinomycete strains were isolated on starch casein agar and ISP2 with different concentrations of sodium chloride (0, 5 and 10%) from treated soil samples. Pure colonies were cultured on a casein glycerol medium. After complete gro...

Isolation and molecular identification of carotenoid-producing bacteria

The production of pigments from bacteria is significant due to the low cost, high yield and ease of extract compared with other sources. Carotenoids are one of the most important pigments with antioxidant properties which are the precursor of vitamin A synthesis and have antibody overproduction ability, anti-tumor activity and inhibitory effect on the cardiovascular disease. The present study a...

Isolation and molecular identification of bacteria producing alkaline phosphatase enzyme from environmental sources

Alkaline phosphatase (ortho phosphate, monoester hydrolase phosphoinositide E. C. 3.1.3.1) is a non-specific metalloproteinase enzyme that is located inside periplasmic space of bacteria. This enzyme is used to measure freshwater sediment in genetic engineering for cleaning water. Isolation and molecular identification of the bacteria producing alkaline phosphatase and comparison of its product...
